How to Wear Nadhor

Set the first drop at the inside of the wrist, where the pulse runs closest to the skin. Do not rub it. Let it rest. The heat of the body opens the wood the way nothing else can — layer by layer, so the resin, the smoke, and the deep sweetness of aged agarwood arrive in turn — 12 to 14 hours from The Collection, in excess of 24 hours from The Imperial.

Lift the wrist to the face and inhale. This is the first pleasure of ember oud — the wood becoming itself against your skin.

Place the second drop at the hollow of the throat, in the small dip above the collarbone. The scent rises here with every breath, warmed by the chest, and lingers under the jaw. A private cloud that follows the head as it turns, quiet, constant, deepening through the day.

At the mastoid — the small bone below the earlobe — place another drop. Every time the wearer turns their head, the scent lifts. It is smelled in the pause between thoughts, in the tilt of the head toward a page, in the moment before speaking. The wearer's own reminder, all day, of what they are wearing.

At the nape of the neck, draw the wand once slowly along the hairline. Then, if the hair is long, draw the wand through the length of it — from the crown down. Oud loves hair.

Every turn of the head releases the scent again, quietly, from underneath. This is why the women of the Gulf perfume their hair before their skin. The fragrance follows the movement of the body all day — a slow, dark bloom that rises with the wearer, and settles with them.

For the fullest wear — the wear that is not for the room but for the whole body — place a drop at the sternum, over the heart; at the inside of the elbow; behind the knee; at the small of the back, just above the hip.

These are the deep pulses. The places the wood stays longest, warmed by the body for hours, rising in slow, uneven waves through the day. The wearer moves inside the fragrance the way one moves inside a room they know.
